Wanderlust and City dust

2016 was about  t r a v e l . So what does a recent college grad do to enjoy a week off work? Plan a 7-day vacay to possibly the greatest concrete jungles in America: NYC and Chi-town. I had been to New York many times before but this was the first time in Chicago, so I had a list of to-do’s.

The Hampton Social : 353 W Hubbard St, Chicago, IL 60654

The “it” spot right in the middle of the Windy City. The chic nautical look and summer vibes of this place imitates June in eastern Long Island.

Sky Deck Chicago :Willis Tower, 233 S Wacker Dr, Chicago, IL 60606

Just being a tourist. Sky deck is just one of the things you have to do. 103 stories up with the greatest view of the city.

They weren’t kidding when they said, Chi-towns rooftops compete with NYC. All the trendy bars were rooftop and even our hotel’s rooftop cafe gave room for nice cityscapes.

Ginosi Apartels : 37 W Van Buren St, Chicago, IL 60605

Did you really go to Chicago if you didn’t go to cloud gate (The bean)? The answer is no.

Bean there done that”, “Its bean fun Chi-town”, “Chicago, you’ve bean good to us”. You’ve heard the punny captions but if you haven’t… you’re welcome.

Jack’s wife Freda : 224 Lafayette St, New York, NY 10012

Overflowing with beautiful NY locals, JWF is the perfect brunch location. We went for a Friday brunch at JWF and waited about 1 hour to sit at the bar. No regrets though, because having Madame Freda’s duck prosciutto was by far the best decision I made all trip.

Top of the Rock – My favorite spot in all of NYC.

Liquiteria : Union Square East 145 4th Avenue. Corner of 13th St. and 4th Ave.

Every time I travel, I try to indulge in the local cuisine but after a few days of cheating (and one too many the night before)  I was on the hunt for a juice bar. We came across Liquiteria and immediately became fans. Wishing they take their liquid talents to Florida soon.

The Hangover Cure:

papaya, peaches, bananas, apple cider, vanilla almond milk, coconut, vitamin c, liver-kidney-lymph detox & honey
